Commissioning, Handover & Feedback
Ensure that commissioning of all systems takes place and all relevant information is provided at handover
- commissioning report to indicate that inspection / commissioning has been completed to ensure that the work complies with Building Regulations. Follow guidance as recommended by the relevant Good Practice Guides (3 - section 14.2, 1, 10 - section 9, 10, 8, 4 - section 2, 5, 9, 11)
Ensure the building operates in the most efficient way and according to the design principles
- appropriate member of the design team to monitor commissioning and to ensure that this will be carried out in line with current Building Regulations (2 - credit M1, 6, 7)
- specialist commissioning agent to undertake commissioning of complex systems (air-conditioning, BMS, etc) (2 - credit M1, 6, 7)
- seasonal commissioning takes place 12 months after occupation of the building (2 - credit M1, 6, 7)
- allow for a period of 'sea-trials', including a post-occupancy evaluation, preferably involving the design team, to give useful feedback on the success of the building to all stakeholders (3 - section 14.5, 12, 11 - N/a N/A)
